MEMBERSHIP

Were a Photo Club, Organization 

I. Objectives: The purpose of the Pushbutton Photo club is to promote photography: Through monthly competition, discussion, events and a meeting place to share mutual interest. Occasional guest speakers. 

 

II. Membership shall be:​ Open to any person, that makes payment of dues and completion of membership application form. All new members shall receive a welcome email which shall contain information regarding club by-laws, minutes, website, and method of submitting images.

III. Annual dues are $50.00 per calendar year per person that's  less than $.14 per day or a family membership for $150.00 per calendar year. Dues for persons joining are from the first day of the month they join to the first day of the same month one year later. Dues for persons under the age of 18, or persons enrolled full time in high school or college shall be $25.00. 

 

IV. Elections and Nominations of officers will be held in November of each year. The term of office shall begin the following January. The term of office shall last one year. Elected officers shall include the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and three Directors. All officers and directors shall be dues-paying members of the Club. Officers will be elected at the November general meeting. 

 

V. Officers and Duties:

A. President: Presides at all membership meetings, Serves as liaison to the community. 

 

B. Vice President: Shall in the absence of the President, assume all duties of the President.

C. Secretary: Shall record the minutes of all Board and General Membership meetings and shall provide a written record of those minutes to be made available to the membership at the next available club meeting. Shall keep record of all club property and the location of that property. Keeps record of names, addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses of members. Sends a welcome email to all new members. Replies to emails sent to the club via the club’s website regarding possible membership.

D. Treasurer: Shall have charge of all moneys of The Pushbutton Photo Club. Shall collect dues and provide proper receipt. Shall provide a written financial report to the Board of Directors at each quarterly meeting, and to the general membership at the first meeting in December. A review of the Financial Records will be conducted once a year by an Audit Committee appointed by the President. This committee will be made up of two or more club members, who are not members of the Board. The Treasurer will provide the Audit Committee all records/documents related to the month(s) selected by the Committee for review. The final written Audit Committee report will be provided to the Board and the General Membership upon completion of the audit by the Audit Committee.

E. Social Media Director: Shall keep website, Facebook group, and Meetup site (and any other current/future social media sites) up-to-date. Shall be the point of contact for the club’s gmail account. Shall gather all images for monthly meetings, send out monthly gallery for vote, and publish results to all sites.

 

F. Board of Directors: The Board of Directors shall be composed of the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and three Directors. One of the Directors shall serve as Director of Social Media, with no term limits. Officers and members of the Board of Directors may not receive compensation in any form for holding office or for being a member of the board. All Board of Directors meetings will be conducted in accordance with Robert’s Rules Of Order. The Board of Directors shall decide all business matters of the club. The Board of Directors may call on a vote of the membership to decide on issues facing the board. A separate meeting of the board shall be conducted once each quarter and is open to Society members in good standing. The Board of Directors may be called to a special meeting by the President or any board member if special circumstances call for immediate decision by the board. Board meetings will be conducted at an announced location. The Board of Directors, at its full discretion, may bestow an honorary lifetime membership upon any person it deems worthy of such honor. Any member of the club may nominate to the Board a person for such honorary lifetime membership. ​

G. Recall of Officers: 1. If it is determined by the Board of Directors that an officer or director is failing to fulfill the responsibilities and duties of that office, the Board, in its full discretion, may request that such officer or director relinquish his/her position. 2. The removal of officers or directors shall be at the full discretion of the Board of Directors.

H. General Meetings: A. The general meetings shall be held once per month at a time and place designated by the Board of Directors.  Meetings may be canceled or date changes may be made by the President or a vote of the Board of Directors.
